Trekking in Ladakh (August 2026)

Having travelled for over 10 years to Asia, we have been supported by a range of local and international tour operators with a variety of experiences. Ramesh (Welcome travels) is exceptional.

In 2026, we spent a month in India, travelling to Ladakh, trekking in the mountains, and then completing the golden triangle. Ramesh, and his local agents arranged everything from drivers, to homestays, to trekking guides, to hotels… .

Always contactable and responding swiftly to queries. The service we received was excellent and completely met our expectations and requirements.

Ramesh and team also could flex at a moments notice, to ensure we had the best experience.

Nubra Valley Trek (August 2026)

Our experience with Welcome Travel during our trip to Ladakh was outstanding. Ramesh and his staff provided personalized service tailored to our specific requests to visit remote mountainous regions and immerse ourselves in the unique culture. The guides and drivers they arranged for us were personable, had excellent knowledge of the cultural sites and wildlife, and often suggested additional locations that enhanced our visit. Accommodations in remote locations were always conveniently located and above expectations.

Ladakh (January 2025)

This is by far the most professional, knowledgable and capable travel agency specialising in India that I have ever come across. They have helped us with impossible tasks: bringing pianos to remote Himalayan villages, staging concerts at the courtyards of Ladakhi monasteries, finding the right contacts and organising logistic throughout Kashmir, Ladakh, Delhi and Kerala, and always taking care of all our needs in a most professional and generous manner. I cannot recommend Mr Ramesh Kumar Wattal and his team enough. More than once we have been in dire need while trekking across the Himalayas or needing logistical help in remote parts of India, and they were always there to help us.

Brilliant travel agency, and one that has never disappointed me in all my years of travelling to India!

Holiday to Karnataka and Goa (Feb 2024)

It was a pleasure dealing with both Welcome Travels in New Delhi and High Places Travel in Sheffield when arranging our recent holiday to Karnataka and Goa. Their service was first class and nothing was too much trouble for them to arrange. The complete 25 day adventure progressed like clockwork not a single hitch thanks to the planning and care provided by Ramesh and his staff . A special mention must be made of our chauffeur, for the trip Mr. Chiranjeevi who readily offered help and advice well beyond our expectations.

Ladakh and Zanskar Trek (August 2024)

I would like to thank Ramesh and his staff for organizing a brilliant trek to Ladakh and Zanskar. His staff looked after us for the whole month of our visit. The hotel in Delhi the Regent Grand was clean and well placed for the metro. The Staff of the Regent Grand were friendly and very helpful. The drives that were provided for our use in Delhi were great and provided an interesting insight into the places we visited as well as general info about Delhi. The Glacier View Hotel in Leh was also very good. In fact all the homestay we used were also great providing an interesting view on local life. The trekking crew worked tirelessly to ensure our trip was a success.as did the support staff based in Leh.

I can recommend Welcome Travel and High Places Travel, they ensured we had an amazing trip.

Ladakh and Zanskar Trek (September 2023)

As usual a very well organised trip, this time to Rajasthan and the Pushkar camel fair. Visits to Bundi, Chittogarh, Pushkar, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Anil ,who has driven us 3 times now, was his usual caring self ensuring a safe and interesting journey. The Haveli hotels used were superb and conveyed a real snse of the history of Rajasthan.

Trek to the source of the Ganges and an extension to Shimla (June 2019)

The whole process from the initial enquiry to being dropped off at the airport was without a problem. We were picked up at the airport even when our plane was delayed by over two hours. A tour of Delhi had been arranged for the following day and we were then taken to the station for Haridwar. We had a guide, driver, six porters and a cook for the trek.

We think the success of the trip is due to the fact that Welcome Travel is well established and a number of staff have been with the company for many years.

We would recommend this company without reservation for the organisation, friendliness of the staff and a very acceptable cost.

Rajasthan tour (February 2011)

We really enjoyed everything, the hotels you chose were very nice and met our expectations. We had an excellent driver for the tour and a comfortable car to take us places. It was a very good experience discovering India and we would not hesitate to repeat such a trip. We also will recommend your agency warmly to whoever would like to do a trip to India.
